Macworld iPad App Updated
The popular Macworld Daily Reader
iPad app sports improvements to reading experience and performance.
San Francisco—July 6, 2011 —Macworld, the world’s leading media brand devoted to covering Apple and its ecosystems, has released the first major update to its popular free iPad app. Offering new breaking-news alerts, improved readability and improved performance, Macworld Daily Reader version 1.1 is available now as a free download or update from Apple’s App Store. Not a digital replica of Macworld’s print magazine, Macworld Daily Reader blends the immersive reading experience of a magazine with the timeliness of the Web.
Macworld credits listening to app users’ feedback as the biggest motivation for the features included in this update. “The updates in this version of Macworld Daily Reader are the ones that our users asked for most,” said Macworld Editorial Director Jason Snell. “In addition to improving features and performance, we’ve tried to find ways to create a rich iPad reading experience. The enhanced features in 1.1 build on a strong foundation, and Daily Reader users will love them.”
Macworld Daily Reader 1.1 adds:
- Breaking news notifications
- Full multi-tasking support for quick app launching
- Live news and Twitter ticker
- Adjustable type sizes throughout the app
- Clearer, more readable text
The app still offers exclusive feature content available first (and often only) to app users, along with editor-selected articles and advice in six core categories, including Mac, iOS, Business Center, Playlist, Digital Photo, and Create.
Macworld Daily Reader originally launched in January to a warm reception,
reaching a peak of number one on the iTunes free iPad app and news app charts.
The app was also reviewed favorably by other media outlets like USA Today and Min Online.
The Macworld Daily Reader is free to download and use. To learn more about
